Why material choice changes how a lamp feels.
NORE makes sculptural 3D-printed lamps in Seattle using materials chosen for glow, texture, structural clarity, and domestic durability - not just technical convenience.

PLA for clarity and sculptural texture
PLA is one of the key materials in the NORE world because it allows crisp geometry, clear ribbing, and a refined printed surface. In many of our lamps, it helps preserve the designer's form while keeping the glow soft and the object visually calm.

PETG for specific lighting behavior
PETG can offer a different balance of resilience, translucency, and finish behavior. We use materials in context - not as generic defaults, but as part of how a lamp should feel in a room and how light should move through it.

Material is part of the atmosphere
For NORE, materials are not only technical. They shape glow, texture, weight, and the way a lamp lives in a domestic interior. The right material should disappear into the experience while quietly improving the final object.
